Indicators for different behavior issues:

Defiance/ Non- compliance
  • frequent temper tantrums
  • excessive arguing with adults
  • active defiance and refusal to comply with adult requests and rules
  • deliberate attempts to annoy or upset people
  • blaming others for his or her mistakes or misbehavior
  • often being touchy or easily annoyed by others
  • frequent anger and resentment
  • mean and hateful talking when upset
  • seeking revenge

Hyperactivity
  • they may fidget
  • play with objects
  • tap pencils so loudly against their desk that kids from across the room look over at them
  • blurt out answers to teacher questions before the instructor is even finished asking them
  • not able to stay is seat

Off- Task/ Inattention
  • trouble paying attention
  • inattention to details and makes careless mistakes
  • easily distracted
  • loses school supplies, forgets to turn in homework
  • trouble finishing class work and homework
  • trouble listening
  • trouble following multiple adult commands
  • blurts out answers
  • impatience
  • fidgets or squirms
  • leaves seat and runs about or climbs excessively

  • intense anger
